Bringing The D-League To Utah
Posted by Brandt Andersen on Monday, November 19, 9:24 p.m. ET
Camp is finally over and tonight we open with the first ever preseason Flash game. We are playing the Idaho Stampede in Burley, Idaho.
People keep asking "are we good - will we win"? Bottom line, you always look good against yourself in a closed gym, but I am excited about the team. With Fez from the Jazz and Brandon Wallace on assignment from the Celtics and a few of our own draft picks, things look promising. Training camp has provided some bumps and bruises for the guys but yesterday things looked good.
Will we win tonight? Well, it is hard to scout a team that has never played together and Idaho is a team we have never seen. They were good last year and they have had some returning players. I am not worried though. Expect a "W" tonight.
One kid I am excited to see play is Aleksandar Ugrinoski from Croatia. This kid can ball! He was our third pick in the draft. He joined camp late because of VISA problems from Croatia but he is fun to watch. He is quick-lacks experience but is lightning fast. He is 19 and has never declared for the draft so can not be called up by an NBA team this year. He is unique in that way. So basically, he is here to prepare for the draft. Could he be a first round pick in 2008? Stay tuned.
Look out tomorrow for some updates on how the game went. Expect Flash by 12 tonight.
